Our photo booth, The Ultimate Selfie, has been busy with trips to the Giggle Ball in Canberra, Lend Lease in Melbourne, a restaurant in Botany and has cruised through Sydney Harbour for the Quantcast and Acciona Christmas parties. Here are a few photos that we are able to share with you.
Wow. We photographed loads of awards dinners and ceremonies in October and November. It is always a pleasure photographing awards nights – the lighting is beautiful and the room is always buzzing with energy. It makes it really easy to capture those memorable moments and key emotions.

Planning your office or corporate Christmas or New Year’s party can be so much fun, but also stressful. You want to ensure the venue is perfect, the food is amazing (and there’s enough), and the entertainment creates the wow factor that your guests will be raving about around the water cooler on Monday morning.

4. Selfie Studio Photo Booth
Selfies have absolutely taken the world by storm, and with the power of technology photo booths have gone from being in the big boxes you would see in shopping malls (or still do) to compact selfie photo booths that can be set up practically anywhere.

It is very popular at themed events. Think Great Gatsby with all the glitz and glamour, or fun Christmas backdrops that will transport your guests to the North Pole with Santa and his elves.

Steve Loe is the owner of the Local Business Awards that we have been photographing for a few years now. Steve is a lover of Broadway musicals, so to celebrate his 60th birthday Steve decided to host a Broadway themed party.
Over the 30+ years of running the Local Business Awards, Steve has provided work for many entertainers in his awards shows. So he put the word out to those performers to do a couple of numbers at this birthday bash.
The response was great and performers on the night ranged from eighteen year old Alex Marcel who Steve discovered busking in Pitt St Mall through to seasoned music theatre and cabaret performers Meredith O’Reilly, Rob Johnson, Monique Montez, Tim Maddren, Evelyn Duprai, Di Solomon, Suzy Ray and Dexter Villahermosa along with TV performers Hayley Jensen and Harrison Craig (The Voice).
The production was guided by Edward Wightman (Director), Andrew Yoole (Writer and designer), David Thomas (Production Manager) and Todd Dewberry (Stage Manager).
It was our pleasure to provide The Red Carpet Experience for the Steve to welcome his guests in front of a red velvet curtain where they were captured by Cristiana, one of our regular Local Business Awards photographers.

During October we photographed two of the biggest conferences this year – the Customer Owned Banking Association Conference and The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).
750 delegates gathered in Brisbane for the COBA Conference in Brisbane which we captured conference, expo and social events which brought in food trucks from the Brisbane’s Eat Street precinct.
The following week we captured 1200 delegates for the CTBUH Conference in Sydney, which was covered by three photographers over four days including visits to Sydney’s first skyscraper, the AMP Building in Circular Quay, and Sydney’s Newest at Barangaroo.
Photographing headshots doesn’t always need to be in a studio or on location, or hours spent with a small group of people – it can be set-up practically anywhere and photographed in bulk like we did for Equifax and St George Bank recently.
For Equifax we set up a Linkedin headshot pop-up studio at their exhibition stand at the Australian Institute of Conveyancers Conference. The setup consisted of two studio flash lights, a compact dark grey background, a photographer with a Canon 5D Mark III and a space of 2x3m area in a conference room that was shared with PEXA, who got involved and had their photo taken for social media (above).
For St George Bank, we had a two light setup with a plain backdrop that staff members were photographed against. The setup again consisted of two studio flash lights, an office wall in a boardroom and a photographer with a Canon 5D Mark IV. Over the course of two hours, we photographed over 120 staff members.
We would have loved to share more of these photos with you but due to our ongoing commitment to privacy, we just can’t.
